Even though there was no school today, MTCHS was still buzzing with excitement this afternoon! 🎉
Student delegates and contestants are ready for the 2026 Idaho SkillsUSA State Conference! The energy was high as they prepared to jump on the bus and head downtown for Opening Ceremonies tonight.
First stop: The Warehouse Food Hall for some good eats 🍔🌮 before diving into all the excitement of conference week! From competitions to networking and celebrating CTE excellence, it’s going to be an incredible experience.
These students have been preparing for this moment ever since our Tech Fair in December, and we can’t wait to see them showcase their skills.
While some of our students are representing us at SkillsUSA State, the rest of our crew will be out in the community — rolling up sleeves, lending a hand, and making a difference!
MTCHS students will be serving at various locations throughout the area, showing what hard work and heart look like in action. 💙
👕 Students: Dress for your activity. 🌦 If you’re working outside, be ready for Idaho weather (yes, that means possible rain or even frozen mix... it`s March!). 🥪 Bring water and a sack lunch.
Community Service Day is one of our favorite traditions — it’s amazing to see how much we can accomplish when we work together!
We are incredibly grateful for our School Resource Officer, Officer Sunada, for spending time with our Sophomore Health Class today. Officer Sunada spoke candidly about the dangers of illegal drugs—most specifically fentanyl—and the very real impact it has on communities like ours. Officer Smith joined us to observe and support the discussion as well.
These kinds of conversations aren’t easy, but they are necessary. The crisis isn’t just something happening in big cities… it’s here. Hearing firsthand experiences from someone who has seen the realities and heartbreaking consequences of lethal drugs like fentanyl and carfentanil... often hidden in other forms... makes a powerful difference for our students.
We were proud of how attentive our students were and appreciated the thoughtful questions and feedback they shared.
Officer Sunada, thank you for your time, your patience, and the genuine care and concern you show for our students every day. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Meridian Police Department for their partnership and commitment to keeping our students and community safe. 💙
